Mr. Trimpa is a Shareholder in Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck’s Denver office. He is co-chair of the firm's Government Relations Group and a member of the Land Use Group. Mr. Trimpa practices in all areas of federal, state and local legislative law, with a special concentration on public policy, political strategy and political participation. He has extensive multi-state experience and is responsible for all legislative matters that firm clients have before the Colorado General Assembly. In his legislative work, Mr. Trimpa has directed successful campaigns to defeat state legislation that would have negatively impacted the operations of certain financial institutions and the ability of municipalities to annex land for development. He developed and helped pass state legislation that renews an innovative auto insurance tracking program. He also developed and helped pass legislation extending a taxing district in order to provide funds for a new football stadium. In the context of regulatory and administrative law, Mr. Trimpa has provided counsel to a major entertainment joint venture regarding the venture's municipal regulatory issues associated with the construction and operation of an outdoor amphitheater. In addition, he provided counsel to a major highway construction joint venture working on one of the largest highway construction projects in the country. In this capacity, he advised on state and local regulatory and administrative law issues and helped obtain a major municipal noise variance for the project. Mr. Trimpa’s land use work includes serving as counsel for the annexation and zoning of a 1,700-home, 18-hole golf course development. He has also provided counsel for land use matters before various municipal entities. |
