As a co-founder, Tay has been with DivX since the beginning. He currently runs product management and engineering activities for Consumer Products Group.
A Texas A&M Aggie, Tay received his Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science in Aerospace Engineering and met future fellow founders Jordan Greenhall and Joe Bezdek. The college roommates knew they wanted to work together and spent many nights playing video games and pondering just how to make that happen.
Before founding DivX, Tay was a consultant with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) where he designed and implemented a variety of systems, from small Internet applications to large-scale, enterprise-wide systems such as SAP. As a senior technical architect, Tay and his team designed and delivered technical architectures encompassing over twenty applications, including SAP, Commerce One and a company Intranet portal. Tay also specialized in Internet security, auditing and assessing Internet security processes, procedures and methodologies.
While working on his bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, he worked as an engineer at the NASA Dryden Flight Research Center where he was a member of the X-31 and the F-18 High Alpha Research Vehicle programs. This experience is unrelated to his role at DivX, but we think it's really cool. |
