Tara Dowd Gurber is senior vice president of Audit, Compliance and Security, as well as the corporate compliance officer and corporate privacy officer of HCSC. She joined HCSC in 1975 as assistant general counsel. She is responsible for administration of the Corporate Compliance Program, which she designed for HCSC in 1997, including compliance training, investigation and hotline operations. She also is responsible for audit, anti-fraud, privacy, safety and security and regulatory oversight functions of the Illinois, Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma Divisions.
Ms. Gurber is a member of the American, Illinois and Chicago Bar associations, the Ethics Officer Association, the Chicago Ethics Exchange, the Health Care Compliance Association and the Dean's Council of the DePaul University School of Law. In addition, she is a member of the Board of Directors of The Grant Park Conservancy and the Chicago Sinfonietta.
