Tan Shundao has worked in base- and precious-metal deposit exploration, target evaluation, and metallogenetic studies for more than 30 years. Prior to joining Southwestern in 1998, he was a senior geologist with the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry of China and the China National Nonferrous Metals Corporation (CNNC). While managing the CNNC National Silver Exploration Fund, Mr. Shundao was responsible for the success of more than 20 silver deposit projects, which had a direct impact on the shortage of silver resources in China.
Mr. Shundao has published over 20 scientific papers on geology and mineral deposits. He has also translated and published books on mineral deposits in English and Russian. He graduated with a degree in geology from the Beijing University of China, and is a member of the US Society of Economic Geologists. |
