Takeshi Maruo is a professor and chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Kobe University. He is also the vice director of Kobe University Hospital, the director of the International Center for Medical Research of Kobe University School of Medicine, and the director of Kobe University Hospital's International Patient Center. Maruo's areas of expertise are extensive and include reproductive endocrinology, ovarian follicle growth and regression research, and the study of sterility and infertility. Maruo holds executive positions in nationally and internationally recognized organizations such as the Japan Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the International Society of Gynecological Endocrinology. Maruo also serves as an editorial board member of four international journals dealing with contraception, early pregnancy, gynecological endocrinology, and clinical oncology. Maruo received a PhD and a medical degree from Kobe University School of Medicine. He was awarded a fellowship from the Population Council's Center for Biomedical Research earlier in his career. |
