Experience:
Sydney H. Mintzer’s international trade, customs and investment practice is primarily focused on helping clients comply with U.S. import regulations, optimize global sourcing options, identify markets for export and investment, and eliminate barriers to market entry. He has worked for major U.S. and foreign corporations on Customs audits and focused assessments; developing, implementing and auditing internal compliance programs; identifying optimal sourcing patterns to minimize tariffs and duties; litigating antidumping and countervailing duty investigations; leading Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) investigations; and advising on WTO and other trade policy initiatives.
Mr. Mintzer has substantial experience working on trade matters involving China. He has advanced market access concerns for clients with U.S. policy makers in order to resolvebarriers to entry in China. He has also worked with clients to advise them on China’s WTOcommitments and how those commitments affect their business activities. Mr. Mintzer also has substantial experience working with clients defending Chinese-initiated antidumping cases, which have required coordinating with local Chinese counsel and organizing lobbying activities in China.
