Susan Wang is a retired senior executive and corporate officer who spent more than 25 years in high-tech financial consulting and senior management positions. As executive vice president business development and corporate secretary of Solectron she had responsibility for Solectron's long-range planning process and business development efforts and was the electronic manufacturing services industry's highest-ranking female executive.
Ms. Wang began her career at Solectron in 1984 as director of finance. She was promoted to vice president of finance and chief financial officer in 1986 became a senior vice president in 1990 and corporate secretary in 1992. She oversaw the company's initial public offering in 1989 and guided its growth into the world's largest electronics manufacturing services company. Before joining Solectron she held financial and accounting management positions with Xerox Corporation and Westvaco Corporation. A certified public accountant she began her career with Price Waterhouse & Co. in New York.
Ms. Wang also is active in a number of professional and community leadership roles. She chaired the Financial Executive Research Foundation and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and of the Financial Executive Institute. In 1995 she won the YWCA's Top Women in Industry Award and she was named one of the San Francisco Bay Area's most powerful corporate women.
She earned a master's in business administration from the University of Connecticut and a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Texas. |
