As chairman and managing director of UnumProvident in the United Kingdom, Susan Ring is responsible for strategic development of the company and growth, both organic and inorganic, while at the same time ensuring the company meets its targets for both operating and financial results.
Ms. Ring joined UnumProvident in 1995 as director of customer services from Private Patients Plan where she was head of customer services. She held subsequent roles as director of risk management and then operations director before being appointed to the board of Unum Limited in 1999. On Dec. 1, 2002, she was promoted to her present position of chairman and managing director.
Ms. Ring is also a member of the ABI's Industry Standards Group for Raising Standards and part of the British in the Community Leadership Forum on the Healthy Workplace initiative.
A graduate of Warwick University, Ms. Ring holds a joint honors degree in German and English. |
