Professor Susan Greenspan received her undergraduate degree from Stanford University and her MD from Harvard Medical School. She was trained in endocrinology and Geriatrics at Harvard Medical School. In 1999, she moved from Boston to Pittsburgh to become Professor of Medicine, Director of the Osteoporosis Prevention and Treatment Center, and Associate program Director of the General Clinical Research Center at the University of Pittsburgh.
Professor Greenspan has served on the Scientific Advisory Board for the National Osteoporosis Foundation and the International Society for Clinical Densitometry as well as several editorial boards of scientific journals. From 2002 to 2005, she served as a council member of the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research. Dr. Greenspan has published many original, peer-reviewed reports in high-profile journals, such as the New England Journal of Medicine, the Journal of the American Medical Association, and Annals of Internal Medicine, and is a nationally known expert on osteoporosis.
