Susan R. Colpitts, CPA/PFS, Executive Vice President, is a founding principal of Signature Financial Management who manages client relationships. She heads the client management team and the technical areas of financial, tax, trust and estate planning. She holds the AICPA designation of Personal Financial Specialist. She was recognized by Worth magazine in 2004 as one of the 100 top wealth advisers in the country. Prior to the establishment of Signature, she was a tax consultant with the law firms of Shumadine and Rose, P.C. and McCandlish Holton, P.C. and with the accounting firm of Price Waterhouse. Her volunteer activities include current board member and past chair of the Board of The Virginia Symphony Orchestra, past chair of the Community Funding committee and member of the Board of the United Way of South Hampton Roads and the Board the United Way Womens Initiative; member of the Board of the Downtown Norfolk Council; member of the Board and treasurer of the Norfolk Education Foundation; and past treasurer and member of the board of the Hampton Roads Tax Forum, The Junior League of Norfolk-Virginia Beach and of the Chrysler Council of the Chrysler Museum of Art. Susan is a graduate of the University of Virginia with a bachelor's degree with distinction in English and a master's degree in accounting with a concentration in taxation. |
