Susan has over twenty years of experience in providing financial and operational consulting services to distressed organizations. She specializes in restructuring and turnaround management, insolvency and bankruptcy matters, mergers and acquisitions, and litigation support.Susan frequently advises debtors, within and outside of a bankruptcy proceeding, often acting as interim management, receiver, or trustee. She also provides services to lenders, committees of unsecured creditors and other stakeholders. Susan is also very active in providing capital advisory and merger and acquisition services to distressed and undercapitalized companies. In addition to her client service commitments, Susan leads Mackinac Partners’ business development, marketing and public relations activities.Prior to joining Mackinac Partners, Susan was a Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where she co-led the Detroit Financial Advisory Services group with primary responsibility for its restructuring and reorganization practice. She participated in numerous high-profile bankruptcy proceedings including Key Plastics, Hayes-Lemmerz International, Inc., SES Corp. Inc., A.G. Simpson Automotive, Inc., Montgomery Wards and Kmart Corporation. Her team advising Kmart was instrumental in issues involving improper recognition of various vendor allowances and rebates, which became a pivotal matter in the case and led to the indictment of several members of senior management.Susan has significant expertise in the defense of post-merger and acquisition disputes including experience in the automotive industry as a neutral arbitrator in resolving post-closing disputes, critiquing valuation methodologies, and analyzing issues related to lost opportunity cost, fraud, misrepresentations, and business mismanagement. She has frequently provided expert testimony related to these matters.Susan was formerly a Senior Manager in Ernst & Young’s Financial Advisory Services practice and a Divisional Controller for Coca Cola Enterprises.Susan is the Chair of the Michigan Network of the International Women's Restructuring and Insolvency Confederation, a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, a frequent lecturer at professional forums, and a former Adjunct Finance Professor at Walsh College. She earned her BA from the University of Michigan and her MBA from the Eli Broad Graduate School of Management at Michigan State University. |
