Susan E. Conner is a partner in the firm’s Chicago office and serves as the chairperson of the firm’s paralegal department. Ms. Conner specializes in civil litigation with an emphasis on medical malpractice litigation. Ms. Conner has served as both first and second chair in a number of trials. Her trial practice has involved a variety of medical specialties: infectious disease, pediatrics, emergency room, obstetrical, cardiovascular surgery, plastic surgery, geriatrics, and psychiatry. Ms. Conner’s clients have included different health care institutions including, hospitals and nursing homes, and health care practitioners such as doctors, surgeons, nurses, and ambulatory clinics. She closely monitors case law concerning apparent agency and her recommendations to her hospital clients have helped these institutions obtain summary judgment in their favor on the apparent agency issue. Ms. Conner has been a frequent lecturer on various medical/legal issues and has presented issues before physicians, nurses, hospital risk managers, and in-house counsel. Ms. Conner enjoys mentoring high school girls interested in pursuing a legal career. In addition to her litigation experience, Ms. Conner has served as a law clerk for the Honorable Thomas J. O’Brien of the Circuit Court of Cook County. She is on the Board of Trustees at Mac Neal Hospital in Berwyn, IL.
