Sue conducts an active commercial real estate and lending practice. She represents developers before land use bodies and analyzes complex title issues from a technical, as well as practical, viewpoint. She has specialized knowledge in condominium law. In addition, she represents regional and national commercial lenders.Sample Matters
Served as a lender’s local counsel in connection with a $350 million loan for the construction of a power plant.
Represented a client in connection with analyzing title issues for a tract of land containing approximately 145,000 acres located in northern New Hampshire.
Represents a state governmental agency in connection with the acquisition of a former Air Force base from the United States.

Sue has been recognized as one of "America’s Leading Business Lawyers" by Chambers USA 2004 - 2007 and was recently recognized as one of fourteen Sheehan Phinney attorneys named top in state and as published in Woodward-White’s The Best Lawyers in America. She was named a New England Super Lawyer in 2007 in the area of real estate. In 2008 she was given the YWCA's Susan B. Anthony Award, which recognizes the contributions of outstanding women who live or work in New Hampshire.
Memberships and Admissions
Sue is admitted to practice in New Hampshire and is a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association. In June of 2005, she was elected a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers being the first woman in the State of New Hampshire to be elected to the nationwide organization.
Community Involvement
Since joining our firm in 1980, Sue has committed significant time to local organizations. She is the former Chair (2002) and a current member of the Board of Directors of Heritage United Way and recipient of 2006 Volunteer of the Year Award; a former Trustee and Clerk of the Amherst Congregational Church and current Church School Superintendant; the former Chair of Leadership Giving, Campaign Cabinet, United Way of Greater Manchester; a former Secretary, and Board of Directors member of Child Health Services; and a member of the Manchester Rotary Club; member of the Board of Directors of the NH Association for the Blind. |
