Sung-Gyun Choi of Seoul, Korea, was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association’s 89th International Convention, held in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, June 30-July 4, 2006.
Director Choi is the president of a corporation.
A Lion since 1979 and a member of the Seoul Young-Kwang Lions Club, Director Choi has held many offices within the association, including club president, region chair, zone chair, vice district governor and district governor. Additionally, he has served as district international understanding and cooperation chair, youth exchange chair, Peace Poster Contest chair, and public relations and information chair.
In recognition of his service to the association he has received numerous awards, including the International President’s Certificate of Appreciation, International President’s Medal and the International President’s Leadership Award. Director Choi has received his district’s Lions Service Award of the Year 17 times and the Helen Keller Circle of Hope Award for his contributions to Campaign SightFirst. He is also a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.
Director Choi and his wife, Choon-Kang Kim, have three children and four grandchildren. |
