Sujay Parikh is a senior associate in the Global Project Finance Department. Other than a two year stint as an associate in the corporate group of another law firm, Sujay has been with Milbank since 1997.
Mr. Parikh's diversified practice includes representation of project sponsors, investment banks, commercial banks, hedge funds and private equity funds in international and domestic project financings, acquisition financings, energy commodity transactions, equity investments, energy company and energy asset mergers and acquisitions, licensing transactions, financial restructurings and general corporate transactions in connection with the foregoing. Mr. Parikh also has extensive experience drafting and negotiating (i) financing documents, including credit agreements, purchase agreements, indentures and security documents and (ii) commercial contracts including power purchase agreements, fuel supply agreements and other related infrastructure contracts. In addition, Mr. Parikh has represented clients dealing with emerging market development issues, political risk, export credit agencies, and with foreign legal systems.
Mr. Parikh has extensive experience dealing with large investor groups, lender syndicates and creditor committees. Mr. Parikh's has been extensively involved in closing many transactions including, the Edison Mission Energy project acquisition financings and refinancing, ANP refinancing, NRG Northeast acquisition financing, NRG Mid-Atlantic acquisition financing, Cajamarquilla project expansion financing, San Jose greenfield project financing, Calpine Deer Park energy commodity transaction, Dynegy refinancing and Texas New Mexico Power leverage buyout.
Mr. Parikh graduated with a BA in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and a JD from the Georgetown University Law School. |
