Sue A. Brush is Senior Vice President of Westin Hotels & Resorts. As the Global Brand Leader for Westin, Ms. Brush is responsible for the overall performance, integrity and strategic direction of the Westin Brand. She and her team monitor consumer preferences and trends in developing signature branded hotel experiences that drive guest satisfaction and loyalty. Ms. Brush leads the development and execution of Westin's marketing, food and beverage, standards and communications programs and provides input on development opportunities.
Ms. Brush has spent her 26-year career in the hotel industry. She started out in Westin's original headquarters city, Seattle, where she worked for ten years in various hotel marketing positions. She left Westin after her son was born, but returned four years later to the corporate office where she held various communications and marketing positions until the merger with Starwood in 1998. She moved east to Starwood's new headquarters in White Plains, NY in 1999 where she was promoted to Vice President, Brand Operations in 2001, Vice President, Westin North America in 2002 and to her current position in 2003.
Under Ms. Brush's direction, Westin’s 1997 "Who's she sleeping with?" advertising campaign and its 1999 Heavenly Bed PR launch campaign were recognized as "Best of Show" by Hotel Sales Management Association International (HSMAI). She has also been recognized as one of the "100 Most Powerful Women in Travel" by Travel Agent Magazine. Other credits include being named "Westin's Most Empowering Officer" and being elected into the elite College of Fellows for the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).
