Dr. Kulkarni began his technical career with IBM in 1989 as a research engineer responsible for the development of semiconductors and new processes in integrated circuit fabrication. He joined 3M Company in 1992 as a senior research engineer in 3M's Graphic Research Laboratory, leading the development of new imaging technology. In 1996 he became Imation's manager of the Advanced Technology Center before moving to the data storage organization in 1998 to lead the Magnetic Media Development Center and was appointed to Executive Director, Media Product and Technology Development in September, 2004.
Dr. Kulkarni received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology. He received his MS and PhD degrees in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He holds seven U.S. patents and his research on silicon surface chemistry and application in integrated circuit fabrication is published in multiple technical publications. He, his wife, and two daughters live in Woodbury, MN. |
