Subhrendu K. Pattanayak, PhD, Fellow in environment, health, and development research, is a senior economist with more than 15 years of experience in developing and applying practical methods for non-market valuation, evaluating ecosystem services provided by forest conservation, and conducting economic analyses of environmental epidemiology. Most of this research has relied on specifying testable hypotheses by applying economic theory to environment and development policies, conducting field experiments through household surveys in developing countries, matching the survey (microeconomic) data with meso-scale environmental and social statistics, and estimating econometric models to generate policy parameters and recommendations. Dr. Pattanayak is a research professor at N.C. State University, an adjunct faculty member at Duke University, and a research advisor for the South Asian Network for Development and Environmental Economists. He also coordinates RTI's working paper series and seminar series in environmental and natural resource economics. |
