Stuyvesant K. Bearns practices in the areas of estate planning, estate settlement and trust administration. He assists clients with the full range of planning techniques for tax-effective inter-generational and charitable transfers. He also prepares, or advises those preparing, probate documents, estate tax returns and fiduciary income tax returns as well as represents estates before the IRS and DRS on audit. In addition, Stuyvie actively administers trusts and advises trustees.
Stuyvie has written extensively on a variety of subjects and has been active in the revision of Connecticut’s disclaimer statute. Prior to attending law school, Stuyvie served as a Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps (1959-1962).
