Stuart joined Sunrise in 2006 as a Senior Managing Director and is responsible for institutional relationships and origination. Prior to joining Sunrise, Stuart was Chief Executive Officer of Explorer Capital, Explorer Capital Distributors, LLC and Yangtze Capital, LLC. Explorer Capital focuses on alternative investment products, structure, management, marketing and distribution. Explorer has represented many large asset management and insurance firms to expand their businesses in and outside the United States. Yangtze has focused on private equity investment in China and Southeast Asia with emphasis on renewable resources. Over the past several years, Stuart has been responsible and involved in the planning, creation, structure and marketing of approximately twenty open and closed end equity funds and approximately fifteen open and closed end fixed income funds, collectively raising over $8.0 billion. Stuart is formerly International Director of Van Kampen American Management Inc., now part of Morgan Stanley Dean Witter Inc. and has worked at Alliance Capital Management and the Irving Trust Company in New York. Stuart received his B.Sc. Degree with distinction at the University of Maryland School of Business in International Finance, Economics and Marketing in 1981. Stuart serves on several charitable boards notably The Homeland Security Foundation and the Sloan Kettering Pediatric Leukemia Foundation.
