Stuart is a Co-Chairman of our Real Estate Department. He represents a variety of clients with respect to real estate law and finance. Stuart has extensive experience negotiating and drafting retail, office and other commercial leases for landlords and tenants. Stuart regularly represents clients in the acquisition, sale, development and financing of shopping centers, office buildings, apartment buildings, mixed-use buildings and other commercial and residential properties. His ability to negotiate persuasively on behalf of clients and practical approach to resolving issues enables Stuart to close difficult transactions efficiently and successfully. Stuart’s real estate clients include retail and restaurant chains, developers, owners and managers of real estate, lenders and other businesses and individuals involved in real estate transactions on the national, regional and local levels.
Stuart has been continuously engaged in the practice of real estate law since 1984. Immediately prior to joining us, Stuart was a named partner and chairman of the real estate department of a New York City law firm with a national real estate practice. In 2001, Stuart and Philip Sharfstein joined us and established our Real Estate Department.
Stuart earned his law degree from Hofstra University School of Law in 1984. At Hofstra, Stuart served as Articles Editor of the Property Investment Journal. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from Boston University in 1981. Stuart is a member of the Commercial Leasing Committee of the New York State Bar Association, Real Property Law Section, the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Young Mortgage Bankers Association. Stuart has been a featured speaker of the Real Estate Board of New York, Store Leasing Committee. Stuart is admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey. |
