Dr. Jackson joined Bio-Imaging in September 2002 as Director of the Education Training and Certification Division following a twenty year academic career in Canada where he still holds an Adjunct Associate Professorship in the Radiology Department at the University of Alberta. Prior positions as Associate Professor were held at the University of British Columbia and Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia. Throughout the course of his academic career, Dr. Jackson has also been involved with the establishment of several private and public technology companies.
With a wide expertise in the physics of medical imaging, including the design and construction of an early clinical PET scanner at the University of Miami in 1980, Dr. Jackson's role at Bio-Imaging suitably includes acting as an in-house scientific consultant, bone densitometry expert and radiation safety advisor.
Dr. Jackson holds a BSc (Hons) in Physics from the University of Liverpool UK, an MSc in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Surrey, where he also obtained his Ph.D. in 1975. He was awarded a Fellowship in the Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine in 1985. Dr. Jackson has written and co-authored over 50 scientific publications, presented work at over 80 major scientific meetings and contributed to several book chapters. |
