Steven Nudelman is a partner of the firm in its Litigation Department, a member of the Construction Practice Group, and a member of the Dispute Resolution Practice Group. He concentrates his practice in complex construction litigation, title insurance defense litigation, and general commercial litigation. Mr. Nudelman regularly represents owners and insured lenders in a variety of quiet title actions involving issues such as easements, boundary disputes, adverse possession and trespass, in chancery courts throughout New Jersey. Mr. Nudelman frequently presents at seminars for construction professionals and trade groups, speaking on topics such as lien rights, contract liability, construction claims and dispute resolution strategy. He has also spoken at bar association meetings, presenting a seminar on liquidated damages in construction contracts at the 2006 Annual Meeting of the American Bar Association (ABA) Forum on the Construction Industry and serving as a panelist on the 2007 New Jersey State Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Forum hosted by former Chief Justice James R. Zazzali. As the author of a three-part article entitled, A Primer on Liability for Plumbing Professionals, Plumbing Systems & Design, March/April 2005, July/August 2005 and January/February 2006, Mr. Nudelman won an APEX award for Publication Excellence in Feature Series Writing in 2006. He is also the author of Dispute Resolution 101 for Plumbing Engineers, Plumbing Systems & Design, March/April 2007, "Understanding Electronic Discovery in Civil Litigation," Plumbing Systems & Design, November/December 2003, and A Chilly Wait in Radioland: The FCC Forces ‘Indecent’ Radio Broadcasters to Censor Themselves or Face the Music, 2 J.L. & Pol’y 115 (1994). Mr. Nudelman is co-author of the New Jersey chapter of CPI LienLaw Online (Construction Publications, Inc. 2007), a leading national, on-line treatise about mechanic’s lien laws. He has also served as editor of the ABA Young Lawyers Division LSOC Newsletter (2003-04). Mr. Nudelman currently serves as a Bar Reader for the New Jersey State Board of Bar Examiners. A graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (1990), cum laude, he received his law degree from Brooklyn Law School (1995), cum laude, where he was editor-in-chief of the Journal of Law and Policy (1994-95) and received the American Jurisprudence Award in Legal Writing. He also served as a student law clerk to the Honorable Naomi Reice Buchwald, U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York. Mr. Nudelman currently serves as Vice President of the Rensselaer Club of New Jersey. In addition to being admitted to practice in the State of New Jersey, Mr. Nudelman is admitted in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, New York, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the District of Columbia. He has also successfully defended corporate clients pro hac vice before the United States District Court for the Central District of California and the 191st Judicial District Court in Dallas, Texas. He is a member of the American, New Jersey State, Middlesex and Monmouth County Bar Associations. He was a member of the Executive Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association Young Lawyers Division and served as a certified New Jersey Delegate to the Assembly of the ABA Young Lawyers Division from 2004 through 2006. Mr. Nudelman regularly judges the northeast regional semifinals of the ABA National Appellate Advocacy Competition in New York City. He has also judged the national finals of the ABA Negotiations Competition and coached a high school mock trial team in Monmouth County. |
