Steven Marshall was named Executive Vice President, International Business Development in November 2007. Prior to joining American Tower, Marshall was the CEO of National Grid Wireless, the market leading telecommunications and broadcast infrastructure provider in the United Kingdom. During this period, he also served on the boards of Digital UK, the government body responsible for analogue to digital switchover in the UK, and on the board of Freeview, the UK free-to-air digital broadcasting organization. Prior to this, Marshall was Executive Chairman of Intelig, the alternative national long distance telecommunications operator in Brasil; non-executive chairman of Silica Networks in Argentina and a non-executive Director of Manquéhue Net, Chile. Intelig was a joint venture between Sprint, France Telecom and National Grid Plc. Before these appointments, Marshall was responsible for National Grid Plc’s international business development. He has a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Building and Civil Engineering from Manchester University, England and an MBA from Manchester Business School, England. |
