Steven W. Teppler is TimeCertain's Chief Executive, Chairman, as well as the inventor of TimeCertain technology. He co-founded TimeCertain in 1999 after having experienced first-hand a legal (and expensive) confrontation with the challenges posed by un-timestamped data. Mr. Teppler, who has practiced law since 1980, is a litigator, a member of the Information Security Committee of the American Bar Association, a co-author of a soon to be published American Bar Association sponsored treatise on Digital Evidence, and a member of the ANSI X9F4 committee, which is drafting trusted timestamping guidelines for the financial industry. Mr. Teppler has lectured to the legal, auditing and security community about new theories of legal liability and the 21st century definition of audit in an electronic data universe. He also advises private and public sector clients about risk and liability issues unique electronic data generation, alteration, transmission, and archiving. Mr. Teppler received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Summa Cum Laude, from the City College of New York, Phi Beta Kappa, and received his Juris Doctor from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City. |
