Steven Ahlbin has over 10 years of Capture Management, Business Development, Marketing, and Program Management experience within the Government market place. This experience is supported by over 15 years of leadership positions developing, managing, and implementing communications and information systems for the United States Air Force.
Prior to joining Suss Consulting, Mr. Ahlbin was the Executive Vice President, Information Technology Division, for Upper Mohawk, Inc. (UMI). His responsibilities included all new business capture, business development, marketing, operations, and program management for the IT Division of this small 100% Native American owned and operated business. His efforts resulted in UMI penetrating many Federal Government Departments and Agencies including, but not limited to, DOD, DOI, DOC, DOT, National Guard Bureau, and DARPA. He was directly responsible for getting UMI added to a number of Major IT Integrator teams including Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Computer Science Corporation, SAIC, TYBRIN, CNSI, AT&T, Galaxy Scientific, and BAE. Programs captured while a member of these teams included NETCENTS, EITA, GSA FAST II, VA GITSS, and CECOM R2.
Mr. Ahlbin spent over seven years as a Sr. Business Development and Sr. Program Manager with the Secure Enterprise Solutions Group of Lockheed Martin located in Manassas, Virginia. His responsibilities included the identification, tracking, pursuit, and capture management for a number of new business opportunities as well as program management of several existing business area programs, with primary emphasis on the Department of Defense. The major programs within the business area included the Defense Messaging System, the U.S Air Force Information Technology Services, and the Defense Fixed Telecommunication System.
Mr. Ahlbin also served 15 years in the United States Air Force as a Communications and Computer Officer including have four commands during his service. His responsibilities included directing the communications and network management for Mediterranean Long Haul communications as part of the Defense Communications System in Europe; directing the operations and maintenance management of the Air Force Computer Maintenance Training Division at Keesler AFB, MS; developing, supervising and instructing mid-level communications and computer officers and civilians from all the services in advanced communications & computer principles at Keesler AFB, MS; and managing all telecommunications for Lackland AFB, TX.
