Steven Yu, M.D., is an associate in the Washington, DC office. A registered patent attorney, Dr.Yu focuses his practice on patent procurement, counseling, due diligence, licensing, and technology transfer. Serving clients primarily in the medical technology, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical industries, he has patent experience in a wide range of life science technologies, including medical devices, pharmaceuticals, nanotechnology, biotechnology, clinical/bioinformatics software, and chemical/materials engineering.
Being fluent in Korean, Dr. Yu is a member of the firm's Asian Practice Group. Prior to becoming a patent attorney, Dr. Yu graduated from medical school at Columbia University and practiced internal medicine. He brings his medical insight to bear upon vital IP and business issues faced by his clients.
Dr. Yu also serves as a patent advisor to Medical Device & Diagnostics Industry, published by Canon Communications LLC.
