Founding shareholder Steven R. Cole has a diverse practice focusing on real estate, business and corporate matters and estate planning. He handles multiple facets of his clients affairs, serving as a close personal advisor in these practice areas. This includes acquisition and development of real estate; leasing; like-kind exchanges; mortgage financing; entity formations, conversions and dissolutions; partnership, LLC and joint venture structuring; purchase and sale of businesses; buy/sell and business succession planning; sophisticated trusts and estate planning; and charitable giving.Mr. Cole has previously served as an adjunct instructor of taxation at area business colleges, and has taught continuing education courses approved by the Michigan Insurance Bureau for licensed insurance professionals. He has also conducted numerous seminars for the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Cole has also served on the board of directors of public charities.Mr. Cole is a member of the State Bar of Michigan's Real Property Law, Probate and Trust Law, and Taxation sections. He earned a B.A. from the University of Michigan, a J.D. from Wayne State University and an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Florida.Mr. Cole is a published author, having written articles and guest editorials for Crain's Small Business, Michigan Lawyers Weekly, and Auto Age Dealer Business. He is also a contributing author to an Institute for Continuing Legal Education publication entitled "Advising Closely Held Businesses in Michigan." |
