Steve Lindemann is the chair of Leonard, Street and Deinard’s Specialty Litigation department, which includes the Construction, Products Liability, Labor and Employment and Real Estate Litigation practice groups. Steve also heads up the firm’s Climate Change practice group. He has served as the lead lawyer for Fortune 100 companies who have selected Leonard, Street and Deinard as their national construction counsel. He has represented contractor and design professional clients in trials, arbitrations and mediations involving design and construction defects, delays, disruption, energy efficiency guarantees, mechanic’s liens, payment bonds, claims for extra work and catastrophic fire loss. He counsels construction and energy clients on a broad range of issues from contract negotiation to dispute avoidance. In addition to handling numerous construction cases throughout the U.S., Steve has taught courses for the Associated General Contractors of Minnesota and has given seminars for other construction trade associations.
Steve is the founding co-director of the Leonard, Street and Deinard Legal Clinic, which is housed within Community University Health Care Center in the Phillips neighborhood of Minneapolis. He is one of the firm’s three representatives to TerraLex, an international network of independent law firms in 140 jurisdictions around the world.
Steve has been named a “SuperLawyer®” by Minnesota Law & Politics magazine and is recognized among The Best Lawyers in America and Chambers USA as one of the top practitioners in the construction area.
Prior to joining the firm, Steve clerked two years for the Honorable Paul Magnuson of the United States District for the District of Minnesota.
