Steven P. Golden is Vice President of External Affairs for The Gas Company. Golden is responsible for The Gas Company’s statewide public, government, and regulatory affairs, facility planning, and environmental, health, safety and training programs. He also manages employee communications & media relations. Golden joined The Gas Company in 1990, as the manager of integrated resource planning and prior to his current position he managed the sales, marketing and customer relations departments. Before joining The Gas Company, he served as a public policy advisor for State of Hawaii and City and County of Honolulu elected officials as well as a government affairs liaison for Hawaiian Tel and Pacific Resources Inc. (PRI).
He holds a master’s degree in urban and regional planning and a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Hawaii .
Golden is a member of the American Planning Association, Hawaii Energy Policy Forum and Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii as well as President of the Hawaii Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators, Vice-President of Rebuild Hawaii and President of the Hawaii Science Bowl. He also currently chairs the Public Utilities Commission’s One Call Center Advisory Committee. |
