Steven M. Ellis is an executive with over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry as both an advisor to and director of financial institutions. His responsibilities at Hovde include the structuring and negotiating of merger and acquisition transactions, valuation of banks and thrifts, and the identification and implementation of strategic alternatives for financial institutions.
Mr. Ellis is experienced in the asset and liability management and strategic positioning of financial institutions. He has served on the board of directors of two publicly traded multibillion dollar financial institutions. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of a privately held bank holding company in the Southwest.
Prior to joining Hovde, he was an Executive Vice President and partner of a private investment company that specialized in investments in publicly and privately held financial institutions. Prior to that, he was a Vice President in a financial institutions consulting firm, headquartered in Texas, specializing in mergers and acquisitions, regulatory consulting, asset and liability management, business and capital plans, and strategic planning. He assisted in the development of numerous FSLIC and RTC assisted transactions as well as branch acquisitions. He also worked as a CPA for an international public accounting firm performing audits and consulting for banks and thrifts.
Mr. Ellis resides in Dallas, Texas and is married with four children. He graduated with a BBA in accounting from Abilene Christian University. He is active in a variety of charities in Dallas including the American Heart Association. |
