Steven L. Walker is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Silicon Valley office. He is a member of the Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Department. Steven concentrates his practice principally on patent litigation; however, he has experience with trade secret, unfair competition and complex commercial litigation. He has drafted patent applications and participated in the prosecution of patent applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Steven has argued before the Federal District Court and the U.S. Tax Court.

Steven holds a B.S.E.E. degree from the University of California, Davis and an LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law from Santa Clara University School of Law. He is also a patent attorney registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Steven is a member of the Federal Circuit Bar Association and the ITC Trial Lawyers Association. Steven has served as a presenter at numerous bar and professional association meetings on topics relating to intellectual property litigation.
From 1994 to 2000, Steven served as a trial attorney with the Office of Chief Counsel for the Internal Revenue Service, U.S. Treasury Department, in San Jose, California, where he handled an extensive number of tax-related litigation matters. Steven is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
He is a member of the State Bar of California, the State Bar of Washington, the Intellectual Property Law Section of the American Bar Association, the Intellectual Property Law Section of the State Bar of California and the Santa Clara County Bar Association. He also serves on the High Tech Advisory Board for Santa Clara University School of Law and the Executive Committee, High Technology Law Section, Santa Clara County Bar Association.
