Steven Mickus assumed the lead role for CHP's Northern Region in February 2001, and he also became president and CEO of the Community Health Partners region in March 2005. Prior to February 2001, Mr. Mickus served in several executive leadership positions with the Northern Region, most recently as president and chief executive officer of its Metro Hospital Division. There he integrated the operations of the region's four Toledo-based hospitals, enhanced quality and created efficiencies. He also has been instrumental in partnering with organizations such as Mercy Children's Hospital to improve the health of the Toledo community.
Previously, he had served since 1996 as president and chief executive officer of St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo. Mr. Mickus came to St. Vincent in 1995 as chief operating officer after serving for 18 years at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, Mich. eight of those years as executive vice president and chief operating officer.
Mr. Mickus holds a bachelor's of science degree from Pennsylvania State University, a bachelor's of arts degree with a concentration in finance from Nazareth College and a master's degree in hospital administration from George Washington University. He is a Diplomate and instructor for the American College of Healthcare Executives and is active in many professional and civic organizations. He serves on the board of the YMCA and is active in fundraising for the Juvenile Diabetes Association of Northwest Ohio and the American Heart Association. |
