Mr. Hoch is a Shareholder in Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck’s Natural Resources and Litigation groups. Mr. Hoch has over 30 years of experience in both federal and state environmental laws and regulations, mainly centering on hazardous wastes, soil and groundwater issues in the context of regulatory proceedings and litigation. Mr. Hoch serves as lead counsel in many complex environmental and contamination matters. He has also taken primary roles in many environmental tort cases and is often called upon by various co-counsels to act as the liaison to the court and other parties. He was the lead PG&E counsel in the case made famous by the movie Erin Brockovich. In addition, Mr. Hoch provides guidance to developers, businesses, banks and trusts on transactional issues involving contaminated property. Mr. Hoch's practice also involves assisting businesses in finding cost-effective solutions to environmental issues by using the businesses’ own attributes to bring about prompt and economically sensible results. Mr. Hoch is a recognized authority in his field. He has published several definitive articles on environmental liability, and has lectured at many professional conferences on hazardous waste, environmental regulation, groundwater modeling, products liability, toxic torts and other environmental matters. |
