Steve Lumpkin is the chief financial officer of Applebee's International, Inc., the world's largest casual dining concept, based in Overland Park, Kansas. In this role, Lumpkin is responsible for the company's financial operations, as well several other key areas, including legal, risk management, investor relations and information technology.
Lumpkin joined Applebee's in May 1995 as vice president and was promoted to executive vice president of strategic development in 1998, and chief development officer in 2001. In January 2002, he was named chief financial officer. Lumpkin was appointed to the Applebee's International Board of Directors in January 2004.
Prior to joining Applebee's, Lumpkin was an executive vice president with the Olsten Corporation (now Gentiva Corporation), and was a member of Olsten Kimberly Quality Care's board of directors. He also served as a management consulting partner with Price Waterhouse LLP from 1978 to 1990, where his practice focused on corporate strategy and technology projects for Fortune 500 clients.
Lumpkin is a member of Instill Corporation's advisory board, a member of the Midwest Bioethics Board of Advisors and an outside director of Pulse Card, Inc., a leader in transaction processing for healthcare providers.
A graduate of the University of Missouri, Lumpkin is a certified public accountant and a certified management consultant. He lives in Overland Park, Kansas, with his wife, Diane, and their three children. |
