Dr. Burke joined Proteon in 2006 as Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer. Previously, Dr. Burke was Senior Vice President of Medical and Regulatory Affairs at Genzyme Corporation. Prior to this Dr. Burke was Vice President of Clinical Research for GelTex Pharmaceuticals and held positions at Glaxo. Dr. Burke is an accomplished researcher, possessing drug development experience in metabolism, renal, gastroenterology, infectious disease, oncology, and dermatology. Dr. Burke is a graduate of Harvard College and Cornell University Medical College. He completed a medical residency and fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and is American Board of Internal Medicine certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. |
