Steven J. Mayer, CPA, is the Managing Partner at Goldstein Golub Kessler LLP. He succeeds Gerry Golub, who retired in January 2007. Steve was elected unanimously by the firm's 44 partners. Steve Mayer becomes only the third managing partner in the firm's 42-year history. Mr. Mayer works with numerous public companies, overseeing SEC compliance requirements in respect to their financial reporting, and he has assisted in various initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions. Throughout his career, Mr. Mayer has been working with both private and public companies, assisting them in financial management and tax areas, as well as in obtaining financing, controlling overhead costs and conducting operational reviews. His client roster includes companies in many industries including retail, manufacturing, distribution and service. Steve is particularly well versed in the financial and tax issues that are relevant to these industries. He works closely with his clients in obtaining financing, reviewing bank and factor proposals, performing due diligence for acquisitions, long-range planning and other strategic operational areas. He has been quoted in numerous publications, and he has authored many articles, including How to Find the Hidden Cash in Your Business. Mr. Mayer lectures regularly on financial management issues as part of an ongoing education program within the firm, and he is a key member of the firm's Marketing Committee and Strategic Planning Committee. He is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, and he is a former chairman of the latter's Committee on Cooperation with Commercial Credit Grantors. Mr. Mayer is a graduate of Bernard Baruch College, City University of New York. |
