Steven I. Frenkel joined Cummings & Lockwood’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group in the Stamford office in 1989 and became a principal in 1998. Steven focuses his commercial litigation practice in the areas of complex litigation, creditors rights, foreclosures and asbestos/silica defense litigation and represents financial institutions, insurance and oil companies. Steven also serves as national coordinating counsel for a refiner/chemical company managing their asbestos and silicosis docket. In this role, he coordinates all discovery nationwide, develops overall litigation and settlement strategy, attends major mediations and coordinates the activities of various local counsel who represent the client across the United States. Additionally, Steven serves as client representative for numerous joint defense groups and has been selected as chairman of several of those groups. Steven’s toxic tort practice also includes the regional defense of a number of companies. Steven has also represented major financial institutions, companies and individuals in both state and federal courts, arbitrations and mediations. Steven is a former board member of the Stamford/Norwalk Regional Bar and is presently an active committee member. He is also a member of The Connecticut and American Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute Council, Inc. and The American Chemistry Council. |
