Steven H. Wunning is a group president and Executive Office member of Caterpillar Inc., in Peoria, Illinois. He has administrative responsibility for the Financial Products Division, Global Purchasing Division, Latin America Division, Logistics Division, Progress Rail Services, Remanufacturing Division, and Systems & Processes Division.
Wunning joined Caterpillar in 1973 and has held a variety of positions with increasing responsibility in the areas of quality, manufacturing, product support and logistics. In 1987, he was one of the first employees in the newly formed subsidiary Caterpillar Logistics Services, Inc., which was established to leverage Caterpillar's expertise by providing logistics services to other companies. He became vice president of Cat Logistics in 1990 and president in 1994. In 1998, he was named corporate vice president with responsibility for the Logistics & Product Services Division. In 2000, he became corporate vice president with responsibility for the Logistics Division, which combined all of the internal Caterpillar and external client logistics operations into a single unit. He assumed the position of group president in 2004.
He has a bachelor's degree from University of Missouri at Rolla and an Executive MBA from the University of Illinois.
He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Proctor Hospital in Peoria, Illinois; a member of the Board of Trustees of Manufacturers Alliance/MAPI in Arlington, Virginia; a member of the Board of Directors of Black & Veatch Holding Company in Overland Park, Kansas; a member of the Board of Directors of Kennametal Inc. in Latrobe, Pennsylvania; a member of the Board of Governors for the American Red Cross in Washington, DC; and a member of the University of Missouri-Rolla, Dean's Advisory Council in Rolla, MO. |
