Experience
Steve Mezer has built one of the largest and most successful practices dedicated to serving the unique needs of homeowners’ associations and condominium associations in Florida. Currently, Mr. Mezer is general counsel to over 600 community associations and he routinely handles matters involving real estate litigation, foreclosures, collection of assessments and deed restriction enforcement.

Mr. Mezer is board certified in real estate law by The Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education. Mr. Mezer is Co-Vice Chair and Secretary of the Condominium and Planned Development Law Committee and Community Associations Subcommittee of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar. He is also a member of the Real Property Section and Homeowners Association Law Subcommittee of the American Bar Association, the Executive Council of the Real Property Section of the Real Property Probate and Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar, and the Community Associations Institute, Suncoast Chapter where he has served as Director, Education Chairman and President. Mr. Mezer has been an Adjunct Professor at St. Petersburg College where he has taught condominium association law. In addition, Mr. Mezer has had various articles published in Condo Management Magazine, The Association Advisor, and Clearwater Bar News. Mr. Mezer has also appeared as a guest on numerous television and radio programs to discuss issues relating to real estate and community association law. He has also lectured at seminars for The Florida Bar Board of Continuing Legal Education, the Florida Academy of Trial Lawyers, the Hillsborough County Bar Association, and Stetson University College of Law. Mr. Mezer has received recognition as a member of Florida’s Legal Elite by Florida Trend Magazine and has been awarded an AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell. Mr. Mezer also serves on the Board of Directors of the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center and Tampa Preparatory Academy.
