Steven Siff is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP resident in the Firm's Miami office. He is the head of the Miami Trial Department, where he focuses his practice on commercial litigation, professional liability litigation, distributorship matters, real estate litigation, probate and trust litigation, and insurance disputes. He represents foreign and U.S. clients doing business in the United States, and has substantial experience litigating issues in the health care industry, including covenants not to compete, employment terminations, disputes arising from physician practice management contracts and insurance issues.
Steven's practice includes extensive class action experience in both Federal and State courts.
Steven's experience in professional liability matters includes several trials, both bench and jury, and representation of certified public accountants before Florida's Board of Accountancy.
Steven's experience in distributorship matters includes disputes between manufacturers and distributors as well as distributor terminations.
Steven has tried cases throughout the State of Florida in both the state and federal systems in all of the areas described above. In addition, he has extensive experience in alternative dispute resolution matters, having tried several matters before the American Arbitration Association.
Steven is a member of the Florida bar. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Steven is a member of the American Bar Association and the Dade County Bar Association. Steven's undergraduate degree is in accounting and he successfully completed the C.P.A. examination on his first attempt.
