Steve Timmerman, Founder and CTO of SWAT Solutions, has devoted his entire 22-year career to understanding and improving software quality assurance (QA) techniques and test automation. Steve understands that a rigorous yet structured and disciplined test process is key to delivering consistently superb software quality. His passion for high-quality testing and his knowledge of innovative testing concepts are unmatched in the software testing industry. Steve's primary responsibilities at SWAT Solutions are to provide QA process management assessment, needs analysis, and implementation of manual and automated test suites for client accounts. Currently Timmerman is the Testing Liaison for Guidant, where he provides testing guidance, mentoring, and education of QA best practices to multiple test teams and departments. In 2002, Steve co-authored Guidant's principle testing document (DOP1300), which is now being implemented by all departments at Guidant. Prior to launching SWAT Solutions in 1997, Timmerman worked in the Commercial Division of Unisys for 8 years. As a Senior Testing Specialist, he formulated functional testing groups and implemented automation process techniques. He performed similar duties for 3 years at United Health Group in a transaction-based environment working with client server platforms. In addition, Timmerman did test consulting work for 2 years at corporations such as DataCard, Ganyon & Associates and Guidant. His skill sets include being a QA architect and Process architect for Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC) and Quality Assurance Life Cycles (QALC) Professional associations include the Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA) CEO Roundtable group.
