Steve Schmutzer is the founder and conceptual designer of Firefly Medical products and the chief force behind assembling the core team for the company. Steve was educated as an RN and worked in this capacity for about 10 years before responding to his entrepreneurial calling. Since then, he has spent more than 10 years starting, developing, and running successful companies in the Fort Collins, Colorado area. With the development of Firefly Medical, he is able to merge his two career paths into one and function as a creative and idea-oriented businessman dedicated to improving the medical industry.
Steve received his nursing education through an affiliate school of the University of Nebraska and then further advanced his studies at Regis University in Denver, Colorado. For 10 years, he pursued various and graduating disciplines within his profession, focusing primarily on emergency and critical care in the ER and ICCU, and with Flight for Life. It was within these disciplines that he first recognized the need for change in the design of standard medical equipment, which has led to his development of ideas for Firefly’s innovative product lines. |
