Steve Plotkin serves as President, West Division, for McDonald's U.S.A. He is responsible for more than 4,000 restaurants in the western United States, covering six geographic regions in 16 states.
Most recently, he served as Vice President and General Manager of the Great Southern Region where he was responsible for more than 650 franchisee restaurants, 40 company-owned restaurants and more than 140 Owner/Operators in nine states. Prior to that, Plotkin served as Regional Vice President in the Tampa Bay and Norfolk Regions, in addition to director of operations for the Tampa Bay Region.
Plotkin began his career with McDonald’s in 1969 as a crewmember in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He soon went on to hold various managerial positions, including Restaurant Manager in the Milwaukee Region. From there he was promoted through the regional ranks, serving as Area Supervisor, Field Consultant, Senior Training Consultant, and Operations Manager.
In addition to his many field operations roles, Plotkin spent four years at McDonald’s home office in Oak Brook, Illinois where he served as Director of Product Development.
