Steve LaPorte joined the AngioDynamics board in January 2007 in conjunction with the acquisition of RITA Medical Systems. Mr. LaPorte had served as a member of the RITA Board from September 2005 until the acquisition. Mr. LaPorte has had a long and distinguished career in the medical device industry including 27 years at Medtronic, including more than a decade as vice president and general manager of multiple divisions, including electrophysiology systems, drug delivery, and, most recently, NeuroVentures. Following his retirement from Medtronic in 2005, Mr. LaPorte joined Intelect Medical, a Cleveland, Ohio based neuromodulation therapy and device developer, where he serves as chief technology officer. He also holds a part-time role as venture partner for Onset Ventures, a technology venture capital firm based in Menlo Park, CA. |
