As Director of Information Technology (IT), Mr. Boykin is responsible for the effective operation and management of the information technology department, including end user support, telecommunications and networking. In addition, he manages personnel, support vendors and high-level projects. Mr. Boykin is also responsible for IT financial endeavors, such as resource allocation and budgeting. Prior to working for SBER, he led the Nortel Government Solutions subcontract with Lockheed Martin on a $500 million, six-year contract with the US Census Bureau and supported various other federal agencies such as the IRS and the Department of Homeland Security. Mr. Boykin was also previously the program manager of a $2.3 million IT project for General Electric Information Services (GEIS) as well as a GE Six Sigma Quality Leader (Black Belt) Mr. Boykin started his career as a United States Army officer. Mr. Boykin obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a Master of Science degree in Computer Systems Management from the University of Maryland. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI). He was also a chapter officer for a local alumni chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, the nation s first African American college fraternity. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Baltimore. |
