W. Steve Albrecht is the associate dean of the Marriott School of Management and Andersen Alumni Professor at Brigham Young University (BYU). A certified public accountant (CPA), certified internal auditor (CIA) and certified fraud examiner (CFE), Albrecht, joined BYU in 1977 after teaching at Stanford University and the University of Illinois. Earlier he worked as a staff accountant for Deloitte & Touche. Prior to becoming associate dean of the Marriott School, Albrecht served for nine years as the director of the School of Accountancy and Information Systems at BYU. Albrecht currently serves as the U.S. representative to the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) Education Committee and as a trustee of the Financial Accounting Foundation (FAF). He has published more than 100 articles in professional and academic journals, authored or co-authored more than 20 books or monographs, and received numerous awards and honors. Albrecht also serves on the board of directors of Red Hat, Inc., Sky West Inc., ICON Health and Fitness, and Cypress Semiconductor Corp. |
