Stephen Waguespack joins Alpine Group, Inc., Inc. after serving six years on Capitol Hill in the office of Congressman Joe Barton of Texas (R-TX). Congressman Barton is Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Energy and Air Quality and also sits on the House Science Committee. As Congressman Barton's Legislative Director, Mr. Waguespack headed up the Congressman's legislative staff and agenda, focusing primarily on energy and environment, telecommunications, appropriations, budget, tax and transportation issues.
During Mr. Waguespack's tenure in that office, Congressman Barton's Subcommittee worked extensively on comprehensive electricity restructuring. Mr. Waguespack also assisted in developing hearings on the Clean Air Act and helped to craft legislation introduced by Congressman Barton that approved the Yucca Mountain repository for nuclear waste.
Mr. Waguespack received a B.S. in Journalism from Louisiana State University in 1997 and currently attends the Columbus School of Law at Catholic University. Raised in Gonzales, Louisiana, he is married to Colleen Guste Waguespack and lives in Washington, D.C. |
