Mr. Szeremeta was appointed Chief Legal Officer of Nortel Government Solutions in August 2005. He is responsible for the operation of the legal and contracts departments.
Mr. Szeremeta joined Nortel in February 2000. Prior to joining Nortel Government Solutions, Mr. Szeremeta was responsible for Nortel’s North American Customer Contracts Team, was Nortel’s lead enterprise sales attorney and legal counsel to Nortel’s existing Federal business. Before joining Nortel, Mr. Szeremeta was General Counsel for Lockheed Martin’s Air Traffic Management group providing legal support for Lockheed Martin’s business with the US Federal Aviation Administration as well as several major overseas initiatives.
From August 1994 to November 1996, Mr. Szeremeta was Senior Counsel for the Loral Corporation and was involved in resolving a number of cost accounting disputes between Loral and DCAA, the lead Loral attorney on several bid protests and provided support on several major US Government proposal initiatives. From January 1987 to August 1994, Mr. Szeremeta held a number of positions within IBM and was Senior Counsel at IBM’s Federal Systems Company Manassas, Gaithersburg and Rockville facilities. In addition, Mr. Szeremeta was a lead negotiator with IBM’s Integrated Systems Solutions Corporation and was responsible for negotiating several complex outsourcing transactions. Prior to joining IBM, Mr. Szeremeta was an Attorney with the US General Accounting Office in GAO’s Bid Protest Group.
Mr. Szeremeta received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Union College in 1979 and his JD from the Washington College of Law, The American University in 1982. He is a member of the New York State and District of Columbia Bar Associations and is also a member of the American Corporate Counsel Association. |
