Stephen Lam joined Toro in 1996 to open the Atlanta office. As a developer-turned-retailer-turned-developer, Lam brings a unique background in both retail development and site selection to the North American Properties’ management team. His retail experience has played a pivotal role in North American Properties’ emergence as one of the premier retail development firms in the Southeast. North American's ability to identify premier retail opportunities is directly related to Lam's experience as a retailer. Known for having a "nose for a deal," he quickly, and efficiently, identifies sites that work. Prior to joining North American Properties, Lam was real estate development manager for Home Depot, USA where he was responsible for site selection in the Southeast & Southwest regions. During his tenure there, Lam self-developed 37 new Home Depot units. While at Home Depot and as vice president of development for The Oxford Group and Melvin Simon & Associates (currently known as The Simon Group), Lam completed more than 8.5 million square feet of retail space. During his career, Lam has developed more than 14 million square feet representing every type of retail project from small neighborhood centers to power centers. |
